Rajasthan’s Cooperation Department has stepped up its reform agenda, with Minister Gautam Kumar Dak directing officials to accelerate performance and ensure strict accountability across all cooperative institutions.
Chairing a state-level review meeting via video conference, the minister emphasized that districts lagging in progress must be closely monitored and brought up to target. He warned of stringent action, including FIRs, against those involved in irregularities or failing to provide records.
A major focus was on speeding up PACS computerisation and ensuring all remaining societies go live at the earliest. The minister also called for quality construction and optimal utilisation of 500 MT warehouses under the world’s largest grain storage plan, alongside faster rollout of Custom Hiring Centres to benefit farmers.
Loan recovery in cooperative land development banks was flagged as a priority, with officials asked to intensify field-level follow-ups and leverage the one-time settlement scheme offering interest and penalty waivers.
Meanwhile, Cooperation Secretary Samit Sharma stressed that MSP procurement must be conducted with full transparency and zero complaints, especially as a Rs 150/quintal bonus on wheat is expected to drive higher procurement this season.
The government also aims to boost deposits, expand non-agri lending, and promote innovation across cooperative societies.
