Rajasthan: Co-op election and educational qualification

The Rajasthan Cooperative Society (Amendment) Act, 2016, which came into effect early this month, has made minimum educational qualification compulsory for those fighting cooperative elections in the state, reports Times of India.

Official sources claim, the step would ensure better management in the cooperative sector.

There are 10,000 cooperative institutions in Rajasthan that would gain from the step, add sources.

Those observing the cooperative scene in Rajasthan say the new Act would promote better governance in cooperative bodies.
