The Rajasthan Assembly has approved the Rajasthan Cooperative Societies [Amendment] Bill , 2019 that will permit law givers in the state to get elected as Chairperson or a Vice-Chairperson of a cooperative society, reports Outlook.
Rajasthan Cooperative Minister Udai Lal Anjana told the Assembly the Rajasthan Cooperative Societies Act, 2001 had restricted a person to hold both the offices of a Chairperson or Vice-Chairperson of a committee of cooperative society and a member of the state legislature.
The restriction has been removed the minister said. , However, opposition party members called for a select committee for the review of the matter.
