In a significant outreach to strengthen cooperative ties, Ganesh K Rai, President of the Citizen Action Party–Sikkim, met Vishal Singh, Chairman of the Bihar State Cooperative Marketing Union, during his official visit to Patna on Tuesday.
The meeting at BISCOMAUN headquarters focused on key challenges and emerging opportunities in the cooperative sector, with both leaders exploring avenues for deeper inter-state collaboration and market linkages.
Rai was accompanied by senior party leaders, including Vice Presidents Jorbu Tshering Lepcha and Anil Nepal, along with spokesperson Albert Gurung and youth leader Dewashish Chettri.
Highlighting the importance of the visit, Rai received a warm welcome from Vinay Kumar Shahi and Ramesh Chandra Chaubey, underlining his stature in the cooperative movement.
He also interacted with officials at the Dr Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University Regional Institute of Cooperative Management Patna, reinforcing his long-standing association with cooperative institutions.
Rai emphasized that stronger partnerships between states like Sikkim and Bihar can unlock new growth opportunities for cooperatives, improve farmer linkages, and drive inclusive development. His visit signals a renewed push by the party to position cooperatives at the centre of regional economic collaboration.
