Rahul seeks defamation documents from Co-op Bank

PTI reports former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi petitioned a magisterial court to get him documents of a defamation case brought against him by Ahmedabad District Cooperative Bank. The court has directed the bank to respond by 11th October.

The bank and its chairman Ajay Patel had filed the case after Rahul Gandhi, in one of his tweets, had made the allegation that the bank had made a lot of money in the wake of demonetization.

BJP president and Union Home Minister Amit Shah is one of the directors of the bank.
