Radha Mohan has all praise for Goa co-operative

radha mohan singhUnion minister for agriculture Radha Mohan Singh has said the cooperative sector in Goa is strong and it has the potential to make the state prosperous. The minister said this while addressing a meeting held at Ponda to celebrate the golden jubilee of the Goa Bagayatdar Sahakari Kharid Vikri Sangstha.

According to the chairman of the credit cooperative parliamentarian Narendra Sawaikar, the credit society traces its history back to 1964 when it began functioning with a modest capital of a couple of thousands of rupees.

The society has since progressed a great deal boasting an annual turnover of Rs 225 crore. The organization that started with only 125 members has now about 10 thousand members. It has a network of 28 branches, informed the chairman.

A large number of distinguished persons including the Goa cooperation minister Pandurang Deepak Dhavailikar and several cooperative high ups were present on the occasion.
