The West Assam Milk Producers’ Cooperative Ltd, which operates the Purabi Dairy brand, recorded a strong 33% rise in turnover to Rs 400 crore in 2025–26, up from Rs 306 crore in the previous fiscal.
The growth was driven by an expanding farmer base of over 58,000 across Assam and higher milk procurement averaging 1.6 lakh litres per day.
The cooperative added over 900 new dairy societies, taking the total to 1,600, while strengthening infrastructure with 11 new bulk milk cooling centres. Expansion in value-added products, especially curd, and new offerings like ice cream and flavoured milk boosted volumes.
Entry into Barak Valley and a new plant in Silchar further supported growth.
