Purabi Dairy, under North East Dairy & Foods Ltd (NEDFL), achieved a Rs 320 crore turnover in FY 2024–25. A joint venture of NDDB and the Assam government, NEDFL supports statewide cooperative dairying.
MD Satya Brata Bose emphasized farmer-centric benefits, with 75–80% of consumer spending reaching farmers. NEDFL plans expansion to Barak Valley, including a 20,000 LPD unit in Silchar, scaling to 1.5 lakh LPD.
Backed by the Assam CM and NDDB, the Assam Dairy Development Plan targets 10 lakh LPD by 2030. New processing units and a vast retail network aim to empower 1.75 lakh farmers and grow rural jobs.
