Punjab Registrar Cooperative Societies (RCS) Girish Dayalan has allowed video conferencing (VC) for meetings of cooperative institutions statewide, aiming to cut costs, boost participation, and ensure timely conduct, media reports say.
Backed by the IT Act, 2000, VC can now be used for boards, committees, AGMs, and personal hearings, with notices providing access details. Legal norms on quorum, notice, and voting remain unchanged.
Transparency will be ensured through roll-calls, logs, and records. Institutions may also record sessions. Guidelines apply with immediate effect across all cooperative bodies.
