Punjab: Co-op sugar mills to be revived

Punjab government is soon likely to revive the lose making cooperative sugar mills in the state acting on experts’ recommendations, reports Punjab News Express.

Official sources say as desired by Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, the cooperation department would draft a plan to rejuvenate them.

 Distilleries will be set up for production of ethanol and co-generation in order to strengthen the finances of the ailing cooperative sugar mills.
