Punjab clears 2 years’ dues of sugarcane farmers

Tribune reports the Punjab government recently released pending payments and also cleared pending dues of farmers in Ludhiana.

Cheques were given to farmers in a function held in the Budhewal Cooperative Sugar Mills.

Suresh Kumar Kureel, GM, the Budhewal Cooperative Sugar Mills said ”100 per cent pending payments amounting to Rs 27 crore for the year 2017-18 and 2018-19 had been cleared by the state government.

Payments had been handed over to all sugarcane farmers associated with their sugar mill.
