Punjab: Case against land encroachment of co-op society

A Co-operative Agricultural Services Society based in Phagwara district of Punjab has filed a complaint against the encroachment of its land by vested interest, reports the Tribune.

Amarjit Singh, Secretary of the co-op society based in Chachrari village in Phagwara district of Punjab, under Goraya police station has filed the complaint.

The local police have booked four persons, Gurdawar Singh, his brother Baljinder Singh, mother Charan Kaur, and wife Lakhwinder Kaur, under Sections 427, 447 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on the charges of illegally encroaching upon the land of the co-operative society.

No arrest has been made so far in the case.
