The Punjab Cabinet approved a policy under the Group Housing Scheme – 2025, enabling cooperative societies to get sites for constructing multi-storey flats, aiming to boost affordable urban housing, media reports say.
The structured framework ensures transparency, timely development, and alignment with urban planning goals. The Cabinet also allowed one-time extensions for mega housing projects and amended the e-auction policy for fair reserve pricing.
Other approvals include amendments to Minor Mineral Rules, enhanced OSD (Litigation) remuneration, shifting rolling mills to PNG, implementing telecom Right of Way Rules, and deploying six sniffer dogs to strengthen prison security.
