In Pune, a case of financial embezzlement has been filed against Santosh Bhandari, chairman of Chatrapati Multistate Cooperative Society, for cheating a depositor.
Between March 1, 2023, and May 16, 2024, Rajkumar Bhajanlal Hemdev’s wife deposited Rs 5 lakh, expecting a 12% annual interest. Despite the term ending, they did not receive the money.
Hemdev’s complaint led to charges under IPC 406, 409, and 420. Police Sub-Inspector Ghodke is investigating the case.
