Pune People’s Co-op: Mohite again elected Chairman

Subhash Mohite has been elected unopposed again as the Chairman of Pune People’s Cooperative Bank, in an election held on Thursday.

In the election of Chairman and Vice-Chairman, the board member Mrs Vaishali Chhajed was made Mohite’s deputy.

Soon after the announcement of their names, they were drowned with garlands that nearly choked them. An emotional Mohite thanked one and all profusely.

Both thanked the management for reposing the faith in them and pledged to take the bank to new heights.

Readers would recall that in the elections to the board of directors, the Utkarsha panel led by the outgoing President Subhash Mohite made the Sahakar Panel bite the dust. All the 13 seats of the board had gone to the Utkarsha Panel indicating their overwhelming support among the electorate.

Pune Peoples Cooperative Bank’s is having a business mix of more than Rs 2k crore. The bank earned a net profit of Rs 15 crore in the 2021-22 FY. The bank has 22 branches and 1 extension counter in Maharashtra and Karnataka.
