The Pune ACB arrested government-appointed liquidator Vinod Manikrao Deshmukh and former administrator Bhaskar Rajaram Pol for allegedly demanding Rs 8 crore, media reports say.
They demanded the money from a member of Ekta Cooperative Society for issuing share certificates and future land auction favours.
They were caught accepting Rs 30 lakh as advance in a trap laid near Shaniwar Peth. The dispute over society shares dates back to 2020, leading to their appointments by the Cooperation Department.
A case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and further investigation is underway.
