Karnataka’s Cooperation Minister K.N. Rajanna announced that the state will seize properties of cooperative department officials found guilty of financial irregularities. This decision follows multiple complaints of fund misappropriation in cooperative banks and housing societies across Mysuru and other districts.
Rajanna emphasized the need for legislative amendments to facilitate swift action against corrupt officials. He reaffirmed his commitment to cleansing the cooperative sector of vested interests.
Additionally, Rajanna addressed concerns over the Gruhalakshmi financial assistance scheme, attributing delays to software glitches and assuring timely resolution. He also defended the government’s flood management efforts in Bengaluru, highlighting measures like the eviction of encroachments on stormwater drains.
