Uttarakhand Cooperation Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat has announced that professional Managing Directors (MDs) will be appointed in major cooperative unions to strengthen governance and enhance operational efficiency.
Chairing a review meeting of the Cooperation Department in Dehradun, the Minister directed officials to expedite the construction of the Registrar’s office and the Doon Cooperative Market. He emphasized the need to modernize key institutions such as the Uttarakhand Cooperative Federation (UCF), Uttarakhand Cooperative Silk Federation, Uttarakhand State Warehousing Corporation, and Uttarakhand Housing and Construction Cooperative Union by introducing professional management.
Dr. Rawat also instructed officials to fast-track pending land matters and send proposals for promotion of Assistant Registrars (AR) and Deputy Registrars (DR) to the Public Service Commission.
He directed that recruitment exams in cooperative banks be conducted through IBPS and that rules for PACS secretary appointments be issued promptly.
Senior departmental officials were present at the meeting.
