Former Union Minister Suresh Prabhu has extended heartfelt congratulations to Saraswat Cooperative Bank for crossing the historic Rs 1 lakh crore business milestone, calling it a defining moment in India’s cooperative banking journey.
In a social media post, Prabhu, who also served as the youngest Chairman of the bank, expressed immense pride in the institution’s achievement. Reflecting on its legacy of over 108 years, he noted that what began as a humble cooperative built on trust, integrity, and service has now emerged as a benchmark-setting financial powerhouse.
He highlighted that Saraswat Bank, as the first urban cooperative bank in India to reach this milestone, has demonstrated the strength and competitiveness of the cooperative model when guided by strong vision and ethical leadership.
Describing the achievement as more than just a financial figure, Prabhu credited the milestone to the dedication of employees, the trust of depositors, and the foresight of its leadership over the years.
He also congratulated the current Chairman Gautam Thakur, along with the management and staff, for their role in scripting this remarkable success story, calling Saraswat Bank a true embodiment of cooperative strength.
