Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a post-budget webinar on “Agriculture and Rural Transformation,” highlighting the government’s focus on expanding technology in the farm sector and strengthening rural development initiatives.
During his address, the Prime Minister said the government remains committed to promoting the use of advanced technologies in agriculture to improve productivity and empower farmers. He noted that efforts are being made to modernise the agricultural ecosystem and ensure that farmers benefit from innovation and scientific research.
Modi highlighted the growing importance of AI-based platforms such as Bharat Vistar AI platform, which aim to bridge the gap between research institutions and farmers. According to him, such digital platforms are playing a crucial role in delivering the latest agricultural knowledge, research findings, and practical solutions directly to farmers across the country.
The Prime Minister said these initiatives are helping improve decision-making at the farm level by providing timely information on best practices, crop management, and technological innovations. By connecting scientists, institutions, and farmers, digital platforms are strengthening knowledge sharing within the agricultural ecosystem.
He also underlined the role of the cooperative sector in ensuring that technological advancements reach farmers effectively. According to the Prime Minister, cooperatives can act as important channels for disseminating modern agricultural practices and helping farmers benefit from new technologies.
The webinar formed part of the government’s broader post-budget outreach to discuss key policy priorities and encourage collaboration among stakeholders in agriculture and rural development.
