On February 24, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 19th installment of the PM-KISAN scheme in Bhagalpur, Bihar, benefiting over 9.8 crore farmers, including 2.41 crore women. Through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), more than Rs 22,000 crore was disbursed without middlemen, reinforcing the government’s commitment to farmer welfare.

Previously, the 18th installment was released on October 5, 2024, in Washim, Maharashtra, supporting 9.4 crore farmers with over Rs 20,000 crore.

Launched in 2019, PM-KISAN provides Rs 6,000 annually to land-holding farmers in three equal installments via DBT. With a robust digital infrastructure ensuring transparency, the scheme has disbursed Rs 3.46 lakh crore across 18 installments, significantly aiding rural development and agricultural prosperity.
