During his visit to Bhagalpur, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded Bihar’s impressive strides in the dairy and fisheries sectors. He noted that the state has transformed into a self-sufficient hub for milk production and fisheries development in recent years.
PM Modi inaugurated the Barauni Milk Product Plant and the Motihari Centre of Excellence, both expected to strengthen Bihar’s dairy and livestock industries. He praised COMFED for achieving a daily milk procurement of 30 lakh litres, acknowledging its role in enhancing the state’s dairy infrastructure.
He highlighted Bihar’s commitment to dairy farming, stating that the Motihari Centre of Excellence will help develop superior indigenous cattle breeds, while the Barauni plant will benefit farmers.
PM Modi also applauded Bihar’s self-sufficiency in fisheries, recalling how the state once depended on fish imports despite its abundant water resources.
