The Pune District Central Cooperative Bank (PDCC Bank) celebrated its 108th Foundation Day at its headquarters with great enthusiasm last week. The program was presided over by Agriculture Minister Dattatraya Bharane, while Reserve Bank of India Director Satish Marathe attended as the chief guest and cut a cake to mark the occasion.
The event saw the participation of several dignitaries including Rashmi Darad, Chief General Manager of NABARD, Deepak Taware, Commissioner for Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Digambar Durgade, Chairman of PDCC Bank, Vice-Chairman Sunil Chandere, and other directors, officials, and cooperative leaders.
Addressing the gathering, Marathe said PDCC Bank is a role model in the cooperative sector.
He stressed the need for a new business model for state and district cooperative banks, adoption of new technology, and greater mobilization of deposits through development societies.
Highlighting government initiatives, he pointed out that one development society in every village would significantly boost rural credit flow, farmers’ income, and the rural economy’s contribution to the nation.
Agriculture Minister Bharane described PDCC Bank as a “mother to farmers,” emphasizing the need for better customer service and timely facilities. NABARD’s Rashmi Darad praised the bank’s contributions in PACs and technology, urging youth involvement in cooperative-led enterprises.
Chairman Prof. Dr. Durgade reviewed the bank’s 108-year journey and future roadmap, while CEO Aniruddha Desai delivered the vote of thanks.
