Renowned social worker Medha Patkar has called upon the Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis to hold a thorough enquiry into the alleged cooperative sugar factories scam without any further delay.
She beefs about politicians setting up sugar factories, deliberately upending them and later buying them back for a song. According to her, politicians have thus made a quick buck.
As per an estimate, the state cooperative bank has lost thousands of crores of rupees in such deals. Medha Patkar has given the list of politicians involved in the shady deals.
Medha Patkar says there are altogether 41 such sugar factories ruined by politicians’ acting dishonestly. She has demanded a special investigation into the whole scam.
