The Ministry of Cooperation has entrusted Pankaj Srivastava with the additional charge of Chief Executive of the National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) following the superannuation of Sudhir Mahajan on February 28, 2026.
Srivastava is currently serving as Director in the Ministry of Cooperation. He belongs to the 2007 batch of the Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax) and has been associated with the CTP Division in the ministry, where he has been involved in administrative and policy-related work concerning the cooperative sector.
According to sources, Srivastava will hold the additional charge of NCUI Chief Executive until further orders or until the appointment of a regular incumbent. The arrangement has been made to ensure continuity in the functioning of NCUI during the transition period. The order of his appointment was released on Friday, sources added.
NCUI, the apex body representing the cooperative movement in India, plays a key role in promoting cooperative education, training, research, and advocacy for cooperative institutions across the country.
It may be recalled that Indian Cooperative had earlier reported the appointment of Pankaj Srivastava in the Ministry of Cooperation in April 2025.
