The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Pankaj Srivastava, a 2007-batch officer of the Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax), as Director in the Ministry of Cooperation, Delhi. The appointment comes under the Central Staffing Scheme (CSS).
Srivastava’s tenure will be effective from the date he assumes charge of the post and will continue until July 29, 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. This duration includes the admissible combined tenure of seven years at the Director level across both CSS and non-CSS positions.
The concerned department has been directed to relieve Srivastava of his current duties with immediate effect to enable him to join his new assignment at the Ministry of Cooperation without delay.
As per the ACC guidelines outlined in DoP&T’s Circular No. 3/4/2004-EO(MM-I) dated August 17, 2005, any officer appointed under the CSS must assume the new post within three weeks of the issue date of the appointment order. Failure to do so may lead to the initiation of the debarment process from the Central Staffing Scheme.
