Panel led by Minister Yashomati Thakur wins Amravati DCCB elections

The elections of Amravati District Cooperative Bank were held on 4th October and the results were announced on Tuesday. The Sahakar Panel which was led by Maharashtra Women and Child Development Minister Yashomati Thakur (Congress) won 12 seats whereas the Parivartan Panel led by MoS Bacchu Kadu won only 4 seats and 1 seat of the board of directors was won by an independent candidate.

Readers would recall that the board consists of 21 elected directors out of which four were earlier elected unopposed and the elections were held for 17 seats.

The elections were held in over 14 voting centers and more than 1500 members cast their votes. The 46 candidates were in the race.

Soon after the election, Mrs. Thakur took to social media to greet the newly elected candidates and wrote, “Heartfelt congratulations to all the winning candidates of Sahakar Panel elected in the election of Amravati District Central Co-operative Bank. Many thanks to all the voters for reposing faith in the Sahakar Panel. The Sahakar Panel is always committed to upholding the best standards of the Bank”.

Amravati DCCB has a business mix of Rs 1937 crore and earned a net profit of Rs 4.57 crore in the 2020-21 Financial Year. At present the bank is rendering services through its 90 branches, 3 Extension Counters and 5 Regional Offices with its Head Office functioning from Camp Road, Amravati.
