Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary informed that the NCDC disbursed Rs 6,098 crore to cooperative banks across five states during the financial year 2024–25.

Andhra Pradesh received the highest assistance with Rs 3,730 crore, followed by Telangana with Rs 2,000 crore. Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan received Rs 291 crore and Rs 77 crore respectively, while no funds were disbursed to Bihar in FY25.

In comparison, during FY2023–24, NCDC had disbursed Rs 3,740 crore, and in FY 2022–23, the figure stood at Rs 9,280 crore. Andhra Pradesh consistently remained the top recipient, having received Rs 5,035 crore in FY23 and Rs 2,570 crore in FY24.

Highlighting the structure of the cooperative banking network, Chaudhary stated that as of 31st March 2025, there are 34 State Cooperative Banks (StCBs), 352 District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs), and 1,457 Urban Cooperative Banks (UCBs) operating in the country.

He further informed that, as per data provided by the RBI and NABARD, all cooperative banks in India, except one Urban Cooperative Bank in West Bengal, are now operating on the Core Banking Solution (CBS) platform, marking a significant step toward digital integration in the cooperative banking sector.
