In Uttar Pradesh, 2,215 of the state’s 6,859 Bahu- Uddeshiye Prathmik Gramin Cooperative Samitis (B-PACS) remain non-operational due to a shortage of full-time secretaries, a report in TOI says.
To remedy this, the Cooperative Department has launched a roster system, whereby secretaries from functioning samitis will oversee the inactive ones at least twice weekly.
As of the Kharif season’s start in June, only 4,644 B-PACS are fully staffed, leaving 32% unable to support fertiliser supply.
