Odisha State Co-op Bank: Voices for probe get shriller

RTI activists have urged the Odisha Lokayukta to inquire into an alleged scam of Rs. 600 crore in Odisha cooperative bank, says Odisha TV.  The activists say NABARD found anomalies in the crop loan interest subvention claims made in the last 5 years.

Odisha State Cooperative Bank did not follow the guidelines and claimed excess interest subvention of Rs 168 crore in 2016-17 which it got from govt of India and Odisha govt through Nabard, he charges.

RTI activist Pradhan is quoted saying there have been gross financial irregularities and a scam of Rs 600 crore in OSCB has been brought to the notice of the Lokayukta.

However, former cooperation minister Damodar Rout says the total scam by OSCB may not be less than Rs 800 crore but his demand for an inquiry then had been overlooked.
