Odisha Economic Offences Wing recently arrested Bijaya Kumar Padhi president of Adarsha Consumer Co-operative Society (ACCSL), Rourkela, on charges of defrauding public fund, reports Pragativadi News Service.
The accused was taken into custody under the Odisha Protection of Interest of Depositors (In Financial Establishments) Act 2011.
Vijay Kumar was faking documents and cheating retired employees from the government and public sector undertakings of their hard earned money. The cheating involved several crores of rupees.
The investigation is still continuing.
