No trust motion: Goa Dairy’s chairman survives

Times of India reports a no-trust motion moved against Goa Dairy’s chairman Baburao Fatto Desai by some members was rejected by the presiding officer. The opposite group claimed they would challenge the decision; however, there was no definite news about this.

A group of nine members had issued a notice of the no-trust motion. Following the notice, registrar of the cooperative societies had convened a special meeting to discuss and vote on the motion. At the meeting, Fatto Desai pleaded that a chairman cannot be ousted with a no-trust-motion before completing two years in office.

Presiding officer Anil Desai, assistant registrar of cooperative societies rejected the motion. Fatto Desai, chairman of the Cacora cooperative dairy society in Cacora, was elected as chairman of the Goa Dairy in 2015.
