No threat to Chandra Pal’s presidency: Legal experts

Legal experts feel that the Arbitrator’s Award though damaging for a person as high as the President of the apex body, does not threaten his presidency of NCUI. He would get relief as soon as he approaches a regular court against this ruling, they opine.

They quote the Section 34 of Arbitration Act which stipulates that the Respondents would get automatic stay should they approach a district court. Majority of awards given out by the Arbitration process lie pending in courts for years, they said.

Reacting sharply to the development Vice President of NCUI Bijender Singh asked how could the Arbitrator set aside Chandra Pal’s election; he is a nominated member from Kribhco.

“Also in the presidential race there was no body to oppose him as he was unanimously elected; where is the malpractice?, he asked. We will fight it out and go to court if the matter so demands, said Singh.

Bijender was emphatic that there could not be another cooperator in the country to replace Chandra Pal as the President. “You hold election once again and see who comes up as the winner” Singh underlined the invincibility of Yadav.

Another Vice President G H Amin is in USA as so is the senior Advocate V P Singh. Amin however said if there is a need we would knock the door of the court. He also vowed to stand by Chandra Pal.
