Maharashtra Cooperation Minister Babasaheb Patil has clarified that allegations of Rs 21 lakh misappropriation in Tejaswini Mahila Nagari Sahakari Patsanstha, Warora, are not substantiated.

Responding to a query raised by MLA Narendra Bhondekar in the State Assembly, the Minister stated that a complaint had led to a test audit conducted by a Special Auditor (Class-II) under the District Special Auditor, Cooperative Societies, Chandrapur, covering the period from 2014–15 to 2021–22. The audit found no evidence of financial misappropriation by the management.

He further informed that depositors, facing delays in repayment, had approached the Bombay High Court, Nagpur Bench. Following the court’s order dated November 13, 2025, a detailed report was submitted to the Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Warora.

Based on the findings, a criminal case was registered on January 12, 2026, against 21 members of the society’s board. The investigation is currently underway.
