Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman informed the Lok Sabha that no technical glitches were reported in the payment gateway systems connecting Cooperative Banks, National Bank channels and SIDBI in Maharashtra under any Central Government scheme.
Responding to a question raised in the Lok Sabha, the Minister said that inputs were gathered from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), NABARD, Public Sector Banks, the State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) Maharashtra, and the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). All agencies confirmed that no issues had been observed in the systems that handle subsidy transfers and payment operations.
The clarification comes amid concerns that farmers in Maharashtra were unable to receive subsidies for nearly one-and-a-half years due to alleged system failures.
The Minister’s statement makes it clear that no such disruptions or delays were caused by Cooperative Banks or related payment gateways as per official records.
