Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inspected the Patna Dairy Project in Phulwarisharif, reviewing Sudha’s production units and calling for major expansion of Bihar’s dairy network, local media outlets say.
COMFED MD Shirsat Kapil Ashok informed him that over 21,000 milk societies support around 7.5 lakh farmers, producing 2.2 million kg of milk daily, while plants can process 5.4 million litres. Kumar directed officials to expand processing capacity, add more farmers, and strengthen procurement and infrastructure.
He highlighted the Agriculture Road Map’s role in boosting yields and praised COMFED for wider market reach, with Sudha products now sold across India and abroad. Senior officials accompanied the visit.
