The National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR) recently conducted a five-day training programme on “Business Diversification Opportunities and Best Practices of PACCSs” for Presidents, Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officers of Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Societies (PACCSs) and Large-sized Adivasi Multipurpose Cooperative Societies (LAMPCSs) from Odisha.

Held from June 8 to 12, 2026, the programme aimed at enhancing the capacity of cooperative leaders to identify new business opportunities and strengthen the operational efficiency of grassroots cooperative institutions.

Participants were exposed to successful models of diversification, innovative business practices, improved governance frameworks and strategies for financial sustainability.

The training also focused on equipping cooperative leaders with the knowledge and skills required to transform PACCSs and LAMPCSs into vibrant multi-service institutions capable of meeting the evolving needs of rural communities.
