The National Institute of Cooperative Management (NICM), Chennai, has commenced a three-day training programme on Liquidation Management and Litigation Management for cooperative audit officials at its campus. The programme is aimed at Junior Cooperative Auditors (JCAs), Senior Cooperative Auditors (SCAs) and Cooperative Audit Officers (CAOs).
The training programme was inaugurated by G. Suresh, Director, NICM, who also addressed the participants. In his inaugural address, he highlighted the institute’s academic and capacity-building initiatives, including the induction training programmes conducted last year for newly recruited JCAs and ADCAs by NICM, Chennai, and ICM, Madurai.
Suresh also spoke on recent developments in the cooperative sector following the formation of the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India, and underlined the evolving role of cooperative audit officials in the digital era.
Referring to the large-scale digitalisation of over 63,000 functional Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), he highlighted the implementation of Core Banking Solutions (CBS) in District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs), State Cooperative Banks (StCBs) and Urban Cooperative Banks (UCBs), as well as initiatives such as e-KCC and e-Audit.
Dr A. Anuradha, Faculty Member, NICM, is the coordinator of the training programme. Chidambaram, former General Manager, NABARD, also graced the inaugural session.
