National Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories Ltd. (NFCSF) President Harshvardhan Patil has called for a balanced and practical approach towards sugar export policy, stressing that timely policy review is essential to safeguard the interests of sugarcane farmers and cooperative sugar mills across the country.
The cooperative sugar sector believes that easing export restrictions at the right time would help maintain the financial stability of sugar mills, ensure timely cane payments to farmers and strengthen the rural economy dependent on the sugar industry.
Under the leadership of Harshvardhan Patil, NFCSF has been actively raising concerns of cooperative sugar factories and advocating sustainable policy support for both the sugar and ethanol sectors.
The federation has highlighted the need for a balanced sugar and ethanol policy framework aligned with India’s biofuel and green energy goals.
NFCSF also stressed that strengthening the cooperative sugar ecosystem is vital for long-term sectoral growth and rural prosperity. The federation reiterated its commitment towards promoting the vision of “Sahakar Se Samriddhi” through farmer-centric and cooperative-driven policy reforms.
