Nepal Co-ops felicitate Speaker with Rudraksha; Awasthi with Buddha

During the valedictory event of 17th Indian Cooperative Congress, the delegation from the apex body of Nepal cooperatives- Nepal Cooperative Federation (NCF) felicitated the Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla with a rudraksha beads. The event was organized on Sunday at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

The delegation led by the NCF former Chairman Keshab Prasad Badal (ex-minister of Nepal), Senior Vice-Chairperson Om Devi Malla,Vice-Chairperson Ramesh Prasad Pokhrel and others felicitated Birla.

Around 12 delegates representing different co-operatives of Nepal attended the event. They included the Chairmen of Nepal Agriculture Cooperative Central Federation, Nepal Federation of Savings and Credit Cooperative Unions Ltd. (NEFSCUN), National Cooperative Bank (NCBL) and other representatives from top level co-operative organizations of Nepal.

Talking to the Indian Cooperative correspondent, former ICA Board Member and NCF Senior Vice-Chairperson Om Devi Malla said, “We are very thankful to National Cooperative Union of Indian (NCUI) for inviting the Nepalese cooperators at the 17th Indian Cooperative Congress. We got the opportunity to learn about India’s cooperative movement”.

“We also got a chance to know the views of the Prime Minister of India, Union Cooperation Minister on India’s cooperative movement. Several sessions were organized in the two day conference which were informative”, she said

Soon after the valedictory event, the Nepalese cooperators also felicitated the IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi, which was later on shared by Awasthi through his twitter wall.

Besides, cooperators from different cooperative institutions, the valedictory event was also attended by Union Minister Parshottam Rupala as the guest of honour.

In Nepal, there are altogether 30,879 cooperatives, 311 District Level Cooperative Unions, 11 Province Level Cooperative Unions, 18 Sectorial Central Level Cooperative Federations, One National Cooperative Bank and One National Cooperative Federation of Nepal as an apex level organization.
