The National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), in collaboration with VAMNICOM–backed CICTAB, organised an International Training Programme on Dairy Development through the Cooperative Business Model for cooperative members from SAARC countries, including India and Nepal. The programme brought together 17 participants and aimed to familiarise them with India’s successful dairy cooperative framework, its functioning, and best practices.
The training focused on key themes such as dairy cooperative interventions for strengthening rural livelihoods, global dairy trends, animal healthcare management, IT applications in dairy operations, feed and fodder planning, and effective capacity-building methodologies.
As part of the exposure visits, participants toured several NDDB-supported initiatives, including the Solar Pump Irrigators’ Cooperative Enterprise, Mujkuva Sakhi Khad Sahakari Mandli, and the slurry processing centre at Vasna. The programme also featured visits to the Amul chocolate plant and the Sandesar Dairy Cooperative Society in Anand, Gujarat.
At the conclusion, participants presented strategic action plans outlining measures to strengthen cooperative education and capacity building in their respective regions.
