NDDB hosts SAARC Delegates in Anand

Dr. Meenesh C Shah, Chairman of National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), interacted with participants from India, Nepal and Sri Lanka at NDDB, Anand, during a three-day international training programme on “Dairy Development through the Cooperative Business Model.”

The programme was organised in collaboration with the Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management (VAMNICOM), Pune, through its Centre for International Cooperation & Training, for member institutions of SAARC Secretariat.

Addressing the delegates, Dr. Shah shared insights into India’s dairy development journey under the Anand Pattern and highlighted NDDB’s role in strengthening cooperative institutions, improving productivity and promoting sustainability. He emphasised the relevance of the cooperative model in empowering smallholder farmers and enhancing rural livelihoods across similar socio-economic contexts.

The programme brought together 15 representatives from cooperative institutions and development organisations. Participants attended sessions on governance and value chain management, and visited Mujkuva Dairy Cooperative Society, IDMC Limited and Amul Dairy, gaining first-hand exposure to India’s cooperative-led dairy ecosystem.
