NCUI’s Ritesh takes Ministry’s initiatives to West Bengal

Ritesh Dey, the Director of NCUI, delivered a presentation on the collaborative efforts of NCUI in aligning with the Ministry of Cooperation’s vision of ‘Sahakar se Samriddhi.’ He outlined the process of registering on NCUI’s LMS portal, an e-learning platform designed to educate officials and participants enrolled in various courses.

In a conversation with the Indian Cooperative following the event, Dey mentioned that NCUI President Dileep Sanghani was supposed to attend the meeting but unfortunately missed his flight. Dey highlighted that the Co-op Ministry has introduced over 54 initiatives to rejuvenate the cooperative sector, and he endeavored to present these initiatives to the audience.

Ritesh also oversaw the presentations of group leaders who provided reports on the 14 different sub-themes of the Congress.

Recalling the 13th State Level Cooperative Congress organized by the West Bengal State Cooperative Union on January 18th and 19th, 2024, in Kolkata, the main theme of the event was ‘Strengthening Public-Private-Cooperative Partnership.’ The Congress was inaugurated by the Minister of Cooperation of West Bengal, Pradip Mazumdar, with the participation of the Additional Chief Secretary and the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Govt. of West Bengal. Swarna Kamal Saha (MLA), Chairman of the West Bengal State Cooperative Union and Member of NCUI Governing Council, presided over the function, with over 250 delegates from different districts in attendance.

The Congress adopted an interactive approach by organizing open discussions instead of inviting experts for various sub-themes. Fourteen group leaders, representing the Congress attendees, presented thematic reports following intense discussions.

During the closing session, the top three presenters were honored, and Asish Chakraborty, Vice President of West Bengal State Cooperative Union, expressed gratitude in the vote of thanks. The conceptualization and execution of the program were credited to Sangita Sadhu, Deputy Registrar & CEO of West Bengal State Cooperative Union.
