The National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) organised a one-day training programme on “Strengthening Governance, Compliance & Business Development in Cooperative Credit Societies” on Monday, at NCCE, New Delhi.

Organised in association with the United Thrift & Credit Cooperative Societies Federation of Delhi Ltd., the programme brought together directors and employees of cooperative credit societies.

The programme was inaugurated by Rajeev Sharma, Executive Director, NCCE, NCUI, and Sunil Gupta, President of the Federation. Sharma highlighted the business model of cooperative institutions and NCUI’s role in strengthening the cooperative movement.

Technical sessions covered cooperative governance, cyber security, technology-driven credit development and statutory compliance. Dr. V. K. Dubey, In-charge Managing Director, Cooperative Bank of India (COBI), spoke on governance practices, while S. C. Pradhan, Principal, DSCTC, addressed emerging cyber security risks.

NCUI Deputy Director Anurag highlighted technology’s role in modernising cooperative credit institutions under the National Cooperation Policy, 2025. Gupta also discussed key compliance requirements under the Cooperative Societies Act.

The programme concluded with a feedback and valedictory session and distribution of certificates.
