In a significant move to strengthen cooperative education and farmer empowerment, the National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sri Sri University (SSU) on Wednesday at NCUI’s office.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Sudhir Mahajan, IAS (Retd), Chief Executive of NCUI, and Dr. Anil Kumar Sharma, Executive Registrar of SSU. The ceremony was attended by Bholanath Jena, Director (Social Projects), SSU; Ashish Dwivedi, Executive Director, NCUI; Sumit Singh, Advisor (Strategy & Cooperation), NCUI; and Abhishek Agrawal, SPOC for the NCUI-GIZ project.

The partnership aims to enhance grassroots capacities and accelerate structured training programs for cooperative development in Odisha. Both institutions will jointly design strategies to formalize and professionalize informal working patterns through vocational education, skill development initiatives, and cooperative management training, thereby strengthening the state’s cooperative ecosystem and empowering farmers with sustainable opportunities.
