A three-day Leadership Development Programme for Chairpersons and Directors of Multi-State Cooperative Societies of India concluded on Thursday at the National Centre for Cooperative Education (NCCE), New Delhi. The programme, held from 26 to 28 August 2025, was organized by the National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI).
The training brought together participants from Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Nagaland, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, and Delhi, with the objective of enhancing leadership capacity and strengthening governance practices in multi-state cooperatives.
NCUI President Dileep Sanghani addressed and interacted with the participants, joined by senior cooperative leaders including Dr. Chandrapal Singh Yadav, Dr. Bijender Singh, and other directors of NCUI. Smt. Savitri Singh, Deputy Chief Executive of NCUI, also graced the occasion.
Over the three days, sessions covered a wide range of subjects essential for effective cooperative leadership. These included cooperative concepts, principles and values, the National Cooperative Policy 2025, amendments to the Multi-State Cooperative Societies (MSCS) Act, and model by-laws.
Discussions also touched on membership management, roles and responsibilities of boards, digitalization, HR and communication, financial management, accounting, GST, and taxation policies.
The programme concluded with participants gaining valuable insights into cooperative governance, emerging challenges, and strategies to strengthen cooperative enterprises while empowering members.
