The National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI), in collaboration with the Gujarat State Cooperative Union (GSCU), has launched a three-day training programme on “Formation of Cooperative Societies” at JCTC, Surat. The programme, being held from June 23–25, aims to strengthen cooperative entrepreneurship and promote youth participation in the cooperative sector.

The inaugural session was attended by GSCU Chairman G.H. Amin, Surat District Cooperative Bank Chairman Balwant Singh Patel, Managing Director Mahavir Singh Chauhan, and NCUI Assistant Director Inderpreet Kaur.

A total of 28 participants from Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra are taking part in the programme. Designed for youth, fresh graduates, new appointees and aspiring cooperative entrepreneurs, the training focuses on the formation and effective management of cooperative societies.

The programme features sessions on the Indian cooperative movement, legal procedures for society formation, business growth and NPA resolution, and the role and functioning of GSCU. It will conclude on June 25, 2026.
