NCUI GC firms up plan to present case before Parl Panel
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Wednesday meeting of the Governing Council meeting of the apex body of co-ops NCUI decided to put forth its views on amendments to multi state co-op act before the Joint Parliamentary Committee formed recently under the Chairmanship of Chittorgarh Lok Sabha Member of Parliament from BJP, Chandra Prakash Joshi.

Talking to the Indian Cooperative, Mudit Verma, a GC member said “whether they listen to us or not we should certainly put forward our views before the Joint Committee. The entire GC supported NCUI President Dileep Sanghani on the issue of presenting cooperators’ cases before the Panel”, added Verma.

It is being proposed that the CE of NCUI Sudhir Mahajan will interact with different co-op federations to finalize the final points to be presented before the Panel.

NCUI President Dileep Sanghani had earlier clarified his stand on the issue as reported in these columns through a story titled Joint Committee: Co-operators see a chance; Sanghani to meet members (https://www.indiancooperative.com/featured/joint-committee-co-operators-see-a-chance-sanghani-to-meet-members/)

Sanghani holds the view that the custody of the Cooperative Education Fund, as in the past, should be with NCUI. Otherwise, it will affect the autonomy of cooperatives in states.
