The National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) today, Saturday, September 20, 2025, at its headquarters in New Delhi. The meeting will be chaired by NCUI President Dileep Sanghani and will see the participation of over 150 representatives from across the cooperative sector.
This year’s AGM carries special significance as it comes at a time when the Ministry of Cooperation is driving major reforms to revitalize the cooperative movement. NCUI, as the apex body, has been at the forefront of implementing these measures and strengthening grassroots institutions.
The agenda features both statutory and policy matters. Formal items include confirmation of minutes of the previous AGM (September 25, 2024) and review of action taken reports. Substantive discussions will focus on approval of NCUI’s Annual Report and Audited Accounts for 2024-25, along with compliance to the Auditor’s Report. The Work Programme for 2026-27 and revised budgets for 2025-26 will also be taken up, besides approval of budget estimates for 2026-27.
The appointment of auditors for 2025-26, review of related-party employment disclosures, and consideration of crucial amendments to NCUI’s bye-laws in line with the Multi-State Cooperative Societies (Amendment) Act, 2023 are also on the table.
The AGM is expected to chart NCUI’s future roadmap, reinforcing its proactive role in advancing cooperative growth both nationally and internationally, while aligning with the government’s broader vision of a stronger, modern cooperative ecosystem.
