Siddharth Jain, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Cooperation, has been empanelled for holding an Additional Secretary-equivalent post in the Government of India.
The notification regarding his empanelment was issued last week following the approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC). The committee cleared the empanelment of Jain, a 2001-batch IAS officer of the Andhra Pradesh cadre, for appointment at the Centre at the Additional Secretary-equivalent level.
It may be recalled that recently Jain was also appointed as the Administrator of the apex cooperative body, the National Cooperative Union of India, following delays in the conduct of elections in the organisation.
Jain is a senior civil servant with wide administrative experience. During his career, he has served as District Collector in Khammam, West Godavari and Chittoor. He has also held several key positions including Commissioner of Industries, Director of Ports, Commissioner (Registration and Stamps), and Commissioner of Civil Supplies.
